Designing a Room: Abby

I was digging through our art archives again (still one of my favorite pastimes) and came across some art I did not recognize in Message in a Haunted Mansion, so of course, I'm sharing. (^.^)

Check it out! Some early room designs for Abby Sideris! The first two, of course, were design ideas that didn't make the cut. The last one was the final choice, and what you see in the game.

The first seems like a room Nancy would stay in; it's pretty, simple and charming. The second looks more like a traditional country bedroom...or maybe even a Victorian-themed room which would be appropriate for the house. I personally like the last design, it best suits Abby with its dark purples and night-sky feel. Quite celestial!

Twitter quote contest is going on now, head over and participate for a chance to win a Message in a Haunted Mansion digital guide!

Also, new poll on your right!

Thanks for sharing! If I had access to the game archives I'm sure flipping through the files would be one of my favorite pastimes too!

That is some really old art designs then... I'm surprised you ran through them! It's so shocking to see something that was made so long ago, yet it still looks so new. Those art designs look pretty interesting. I'm diggin that lovely country wallpaper in the middle.. Looks like a bedroom Shorty or Dave might sleep in at Shadow Ranch hahaha(:

I like the first two room for Nancy but, yeah, the third is perfect for Abby! I remember exploring the room well.

P.S. How do you keep notes while playing a game? I keep a notebook.

I tend to use both the task list and scratch paper! What would be really cool is to have a in game note pad where the PLAYER can write stuff down!

Silvertongue,

I generally end up using small little note papers/stickie notes and have this mess after each game that I attempt to shove into the game box. (Sort of like when a girl sits on her suitcase trying to get it shut lol)

Anonymous,

Oh yes! There is a petition on the boards about a "writable notepad" and I REALLY hope that someday it will become a reality.
