Memorizing the Games

For those of us players who like to replay the Nancy Drew mysteries over and over, we tend to memorize random parts. For example, certain quotes like "Fifty drumsticks, please! Chicken, that is. Cluck, cluck!" or even "You're asking the wrong amnesiac!" Other things we might remember would be where to find an Easter egg or where to locate a certain password, or remembering where to enter 3*72 to turn off an alarm.

Here's something that a few of us have memorized: the tapestry poem in Nancy's room in Message in a Haunted Mansion. "Listen my child..."

Have you been able to recite the poem by heart?

Head's up! Twitter Quote contest is today!

Yes! Thank god I'm not the only one that replays these over and over again. My best friend who plays these with me thinks I'm nuts. I remember 80% of the quotes and I remember the puzzles solutions too! It's really amazing too when your a long time fan, because then you can go back at the times when you first played the game when it came out and really call those memories.

Yeah, I hear you LJ!
It's coincidence you should mention 3*72.......every time I play TRT, I don't even have to think about what that password is! I've memorized it, as well as 171943 in DED.
And speaking of quotes...
"I felt like a seabird that landed in an oil slick and couldn't fly away," - Helena Berg
"It's normal to freak out after a near death experience." - Ryan Kilpatrick

LOL yeaaah... that's me. I memorize the random-est quotes in the games! As an example, I happen to have the dialogue in SPY memorized where ***minor spoiler alert!*** Nancy and Zoe are trapped in the trash compacter, and I've repeated it several times..! When I first heard it, I was thinking in my head, "You tell her, Nancy! You are the best detective ever, and you are NOT out of your league!" while at the same time trying to hurriedly solve the puzzle to avoid Zoe's metaphor to be "the metaphor I'm riding into the grave...the much smaller, and flatter than average grave." LOL... yep. Total ND freak right here... XD
